The RGV Arts & Empowerment Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded by Rhythm Room to make dance, culture, and leadership development more accessible across the Rio Grande Valley — empowering students and emerging leaders to reach their full potential.

The arts have the power to inspire, heal, and bring people together. Our foundation works to expand access to dance and arts education in the Rio Grande Valley, creating spaces where students can learn, grow, lead, and give back while celebrating culture and community.​

What We Do:

Our work focuses on making the arts accessible, meaningful, and community-centered through:

Free and low-cost dance training and workshops

College student training and leadership development

Scholarships and access to professional artists and mentors

College Dance Training & Leadership Program

A scholarship-based program for college students interested in dance, leadership, and community engagement. Participants receive structured dance training, mentorship, and hands-on experience assisting with classes, events, and community programs.​

What Students Receive:

• 🎓 Free or subsidized dance classes at Rhythm Room
• 🕺 Training in salsa, bachata, and additional dance styles
• 🤝 Mentorship from instructors and visiting professional artists
• 📣 Opportunities to assist, lead, and teach when ready
• 🌴 Priority opportunities to support Que Padre Latin Dance Festival
• ⭐ Eligibility for advanced training and future scholarships

​Who Can Apply:

• Currently enrolled college students (any major)
• No prior dance experience required
• Interest in arts, leadership, education, or community service

Program length:

• 6–12 months
• Includes a training phase followed by leadership and teaching opportunities
